BioWare's been on an incredible roll within the last few years. Granted, it has a huge number of employees spread across multiple studios working on new products to its advantage, but it also has three of the hottest role-playing properties in existence right now. One of them is Dragon Age. With the original, BioWare provided a slightly modernized take on the classic Baldur's Gate-style dungeon crawling gameplay. With the second, it seems as though the core formula is staying intact, though with an updated conversation system.
The weird thing about Dragon Age II is that it won't star your created character from the first. The game will still import certain elements from previous save files and some familiar faces will appear, but this time around you're playing as a human named Hawke. Class and gender can be modified, but not race. The game will also feature a dramatically different art style. While a lot of questions still remain about Dragon Age II, the release date is fast approaching, and considering the BioWare's history, chances are it'll turn out well.
